Puglia: the Italian paradise you won't want to share

Visit Peschici
Explore the town of Peschici, perched on a rocky outcrop, with its maze of cobbled streets lined with white houses. While you’re exploring, take time to check out some of the craft shops and studios run by multi-talented artists. You can even ask them for a one-off piece to take home with you.
After you’ve visited the medieval castle and the Church of Sant’Elia, try some of the local specialities such as “Panmbuss pu cefl” (mullet soup) or Paposcia Peschiciano.
Visitor highlight: watching the sunrise or sunset from the trabucchi, old wooden, fishing structures.

Fine sandy beaches
Puglia’s 865 km of coastline is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Italy. And, indeed, the world, according to fans of this coastal paradise. And with its steep cliffs, golden, sandy shores and beautiful sea caves it’s easy to understand why.
And you’re particularly lucky as you’ll have private access to one such beach from your campsite. However, if the adventurer in you is keen to venture further afield, here are our 3 favourite beaches:
- Jalillo beach: a sandy beach with shallow water that’s ideal for families. It’s tucked away behind a large rock formation and offers a wonderful, panoramic view of Peschici.
- Zaiana beach: a flight of steps leads down to the beach, nestled between high cliffs. It’s also known for its beautiful, unspoilt setting.
- Procinisco Beach: wander around the trabucchi, traditional fishing structures for which the beach is famous.
