Water-based activities
For water sports enthusiasts, Les Pouilles is THE place to be. When it comes to our favourite activities, it’s a tie between stand-up paddle and canoeing. Paddle around the cliffs and discover the region from the sea. The crystal-clear waters of Spiaggia di Mannacora beach also offer the perfect conditions for exploring the seabed. So, get your masks and snorkels!
But maybe you’re an adrenaline junkie? Peschici beach, Marina di Peschici and Baia di Santa Maria di Merino provide the ideal conditions for kite and windsurfing.
Visitor highlight: renting a transparent canoe so you can admire Gargano’s beautiful underwater world. Some boats set off from Mattinatella beach.

Excursion to the Tremiti islands
Are you familiar with the “pearls of the Adriatic?” This expression - with its connotations of precious jewels - is often used to refer to the iconic Tremiti archipelago. This idyllic region, located north of Gargano, comprises 5 main islands, each more beautiful than the last. The transparent waters, underwater caves and biodiversity make it very popular with nature, history and snorkelling enthusiasts.
Set off to explore San Nicola with its old medieval ramparts where younger children can play at being ancient mariners and pirates. Then head off for a boat trip around the islands. Explore the Grotta del Rondinelle or the Grotta delle Viole sea caves, with the wind in your hair.
Visitor highlight: snorkelling around San Domino and Capraia. The waters around the island are home to a rich, marine biodiversity including colourful fish and coral.
